Innovation for Innovation (i4i)
11/06/2008
The Innovation for Innovation (i4i) programme of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is a direct response to the need to speed up the innovation process - turning inventions into new products to meet the demands of a 21st century health service.
i4i builds on two existing and successful NIHR programmes - New and Emerging Applications of Technology (NEAT) and Health Technology Devices (HTD) - combining them and integrating them more closely into the innovation process.
In addition to providing funding for product development, i4i will focus on creating strong links with idea generators - such as Healthcare Technology Co-operatives - and will work with organisations that fund commercialisation and exploitation. The i4i Programme will be launched at a full day conference on Wednesday, 16th July 2008 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster, London
